The international trade fair Rail Business Days will take place from 9 to 11 June 2026 at the Trojhalí Karolina venue in Ostrava. Among the exhibitors will be DAKO-CZ, a leading manufacturer of braking systems and components for rail vehicles. At its stand A09 in Hall 1, the company will present new additions to its product portfolio, current projects in passenger, urban and freight rail transport, and technologies responding to growing demands for digitalisation, operational efficiency and sustainability.

The company has long been developing solutions that support modern and environmentally friendly mobility. The exhibit will therefore include models of pneumatic and electromechanical braking systems designed for the new generation of rail vehicles, as well as selected components for passenger coaches and freight wagons. Visitors from both the professional and the general public will also be able to see the weight-optimised DAKO distributor and other elements developed with an emphasis on higher operational efficiency, lower energy consumption and easier maintenance.

"Rail Business Days is an important opportunity to meet our customers and the professional public. This year we want to present not only our proven solutions, but also projects confirming the growing use of DAKO technologies in modern passenger, urban and freight rail transport across Europe," says Petr Novotný, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of DAKO-CZ.

The freight segment continues to account for a significant share of the company's production. It is in this segment that DAKO-CZ has won a major contract to supply disc braking systems for 59 six-axle Laados-type wagons for Tatravagónka. These wagons are intended for the Polish customer CLIP and will be used to transport tractor units and light commercial vehicles. The exhibit will also feature a brake unit designed for Laados-type wagons, which stands out above all for its compact installation dimensions. From the freight segment, Ostrava will also see the new lightweight DAKO KBZ 10 disc brake unit for freight wagons in a version with a hand brake and a brake application indicator, supplied to customers in variants for 110 mm and 170 mm disc widths.

DAKO-CZ will further present units and components for the complete equipping of passenger coach bogies, a weight-optimised digital distributor and new brake components developed in accordance with UIC standards. Pneumatic braking system solutions for both passenger and freight transport will also be represented. At its stand the company will show a version of the compact DAKO KKBA brake unit for axle-mounted discs, produced either with a parking brake or in a simple version without one. The advantage of this solution is its low operating and maintenance demands. The final exhibit on display will be the DAKO electromechanical brake unit, characterised by an oil-free design in line with the brake-by-wire concept. This new braking system, including control units and track brakes, is installed in the new ForCity Plus 52T trams that Škoda Group is supplying to the Prague Public Transport Company.

Visitors will find the DAKO-CZ exhibit in Hall 1, stand A09. Rail Business Days is one of the most important railway trade fairs in Central Europe, connecting primarily the Czech, Slovak and Polish markets. In 2025, 138 exhibitors presented themselves across an exhibition area of 5,400 m², and the event was attended by almost 13,000 visitors.

About DAKO-CZ, a.s.

DAKO-CZ is a leading manufacturer of braking systems for rail vehicles – pneumatic, electromechanical, electromagnetic and hydraulic – with a heritage spanning more than 200 years.

The company supplies braking systems and components for freight wagons, passenger coaches, suburban units, locomotives, metro trains and trams. DAKO-CZ has its own R&D department, a modern testing laboratory and a design centre. Beyond developing and manufacturing braking systems and components, it also provides after-sales service, and in 2020 it opened a new service centre on its site.

That same year, with a full order book, the company expanded its production hall and completely overhauled its logistics, significantly boosting production capacity.
